PRI Sprint & Midget Classic Takes One Year Hiatus
LAGUNA BEACH, CA — For 2008, the PRI Trade Show’s annual Friday night tradition of a raucous racing industry gathering at the PRI Sprint & Midget Classic will be postponed for a year as the event undergoes a major renovation for its return to the PRI calendar of events in 2009.
“We’re currently working on plans to make the event even bigger and better, but we need more time to put everything in place. We must start promoting the events at the 2008 Performance Racing Industry Trade Show now, and we still have a lot of details yet to be worked out in regards to big changes in the race,” said Steve Lewis, the show’s producer and the race’s organizer.
The PRI Trade Show is the world’s largest racing trade show, and is being held December 11-13, 2008, in the North/South Building of the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. The Show features exhibits by 1,200+ companies, with 40,000 racing industry entrepreneurs in attendance from 60+ countries.
For three years, thousands of members of the racing industry packed Orlando Speedworld to enjoy the wild, wheel-to-wheel racing action of the PRI Sprint & Midget Classic. They were transported to the race via the Show’s complimentary shuttle bus system.
“It was a great night for all of us, and we’ll miss it this year,” said Lewis. “We’re going to retool it, possibly with a new location, and bring back an expanded event with even more bang for the buck. Stay tuned.”
